Listen…It’s Okay To Let Go

I think the hardest part about being there for people and treating them the way that you would like to be treated is realizing that your actions won’t be reciprocated. Why must be people be difficult? Is it really that hard to follow the Golden Rule and do unto others what you would like them to do unto you? I guess so because in 2014, people aren’t worried about you and your needs. Things HAVE to change and as soon as possible. When you begin to feel yourself putting too much energy into your relationships with friends and/or your significant other – stop. Even family members can get crazy. Don’t do more for them than they would do for you!!!

I’m at a point in my life where being selfish is okay. I know in my last personal post I tried to steer you guys away from being wrpped up in yourselves. Now I get it. I’m sorry for making you guys feel bad… that’s if you changed your attitude. Ha! I’ve spent crazy amounts of time trying to be the best person I can be. No one is perfect, but I’m a firm believer in making changes and modifying who you are in order to develop character. The challenging part is achieving realistic goals of being a better person. Most of us think about being nicer and seconds later we find ourselves cursing like a sailor. Well… things happen right? Blah.

Whether I’m giving advice, handling tasks that people ask me to do, or simply being kind for the hell of it, I’m always one to get taken advantage of. I quickly learned that when you want something done, do it yourself. There’s no reason to try and discuss problems with individuals that see no fault in their actions so even don’t waste your breath. Talk about someone not realizing how much they haven’t done for you. Remember: You are the company you keep. If you continue to spend time with people who take you for granted, how will you excel?

From one annoyed person to another, I suggest you find your cool, work on yourself, and worry about making things happen. No one can love you and treat you better than YOU can. Learn to let go and start living for YOU.

let go
