The Book of Proverbs

When you give people an inch, they take a mile. If you give a mouse a cookie, it’ll want milk to go with it. When you need someone to reciprocate the things you’ve done for them, well… it just doesn’t happen often. Don’t dwell on the mishaps of others. They are not obligated to do for you what you so kindly have done for them. Individually, we just don’t think the same. The book of Proverbs touches on the act of giving and it reads:

Proverbs 3:27
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.

Proverbs 11:24-25
There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered.

Proverbs 21:26
…the righteous gives and does not hold back.

Proverbs 22:9
He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.

Proverbs 28:27
He who gives to the poor will never want, but he who shuts his eyes will have many curses.

Though you may feel like no one cares for your struggles, remember that God is the alpha and the omega. He will do just what He said He would do. Trust me when I say that patience is truly a virtue.
