The University of Louisville Student Activities Board (UofL SAB) does it again! The annual block party on campus is a big hit for students and the surrounding Louisville community. On Sunday, September 22nd, 2013 between the third and fourth streets of the Cardinal Towne strip, the block was taken over with FREE food, FREE games, and FREE rides to enjoy. What’s not to love about our university? Our students take pride in finding ways to bring everyone together in order to create a fun filled atmosphere for our campus. We appreciate their hard work!
The event included many activities such as a laser tag arena, rock climbing, carnival rides, a mechanical bull, zip lining for the brave and other small booths that involved spinning the wheel and face-painting. All activities were entirely free to the community and from 1pm to 6pm the block was a sight to see! There was also music and deejay appearances from WAMZ and RadioNow. Free hot dogs were served and Pepsi Products were given out to drink. An option to purchase $3 funnel cakes from a carnival vendor was the only pocket pincher, still bringing a smile to the face of many funnel cake lovers (myself included).
“I’m happy to see everyone enjoying themselves! This is our 10th annual campus homecoming block party and we have been working hard to make it better than the years before. I hope that everyone gets a chance to visit all of the games we have provided for them! The Student Activities Board is extremely happy with the outcome.”

“It makes me proud to see people come out and enjoy the block party we organized for everyone. It’s good to see diversity and appreciation come alive. I’ve been enjoying myself while here and from looking around I know that others are too!”
